This is a unique opportunity for someone with real estate transactional experience and/or renewable energy development experience to join a growing and dynamic company.  This position will provide various experience and learning opportunities and closely collaborate with our in-house legal team and internal development and finance teams.

Our headquarters is in St. Louis (our HQ), and we have offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Stamford. Remote-work candidates are welcomed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee communication with third-party vendors (including title companies and surveyors) in ordering, reviewing, and negotiating title commitments and ALTA surveys, removing title defects, and issuing title insurance policies.
  • Communicate and coordinate with counsel and third parties to remove title defects, including preparing any necessary documentation related thereto.
  • Work with internal project managers, development leads, external lenders, and investors to finalize the documentation necessary to execute the issuance of title policies as part of financing transactions.
  • Perform detailed reviews of surveys, title reports, and underlying documents.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of types of title endorsements required by specific lenders.
  • Assist with the identification of title risks throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage system for real estate document retention.
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal resources to deliver timely and accurate work product.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience in real estate is a prerequisite (specifically, experience in title and ALTA survey review), including experience with financial closings and/or acquisitions
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills

  • 2+ years of experience handling titles and survey for commercial real estate
